Tip Top Run featuring World Water Day on March 12th was a great success and a lot of fun. This event celebrates the eradication of Caulerpa taxifolia and helps to raise friends, funds, and awareness about this amazing resource. These unique courses have one of a kind views of the Agua Hedionda Lagoon and Pacific Ocean. Runners had a choice of a 5k or 10k route and finished at the Discovery Center where World Water Day was in full swing. World Water Day had over 15 interactive and educational booths as well as live music, lunch from Tip Top Meats and a beer garden!
Sea Creatures at Night was a successful event! Our Marine Biologist Nate Spindel educated guests on the Discovery Aquariums and nocturnal habits and feeding of sea creatures! Kids crafted an Octopus, took home glow in the dark phytoplankton, ate pizza and yummy starfish gummies for dessert!

On hand for Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall, the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce CEO, Ted Owen, Agua Hedionda Board Chairman Mike Metts, Peder Norby Energy Neutral Coordinator for Agua Hedionda, and dignitaries from SDG&E.

The Agua Hedionda Lagoon had a wonderful day on July 20th 2013! We started the day with a 10k run, 5krun and a 2 mile walk from 3 different locations. Here at the Discovery Center we appreciate each and every one of our volunteers that help out. From cleaning the trails to filing papers. We are very thankful for their time and dedication. On August 6th 2013 we celebrated our volunteers with a wonderful lunch out on our patio.
The weather was our best friend on October 19th 2013! Sun+fun was the perfect recipe for our LPPC event. Kids and adults dressed up for this special event and had a blast paddle boarding and canoeing around the Lagoon. At the end of their 7 poker stops around the lagoon every one enjoyed yummy food from different local vendors, live music, celebrity greeting from Christopher Night and a costume contest with tons of great prizes!
